Ohly breaks ground on its first spray tower at Hamburg site

Ohly has started the construction of its first spray drying tower at its Hamburg site, which will be used to dry yeast derivatives produced there.

Given the existing demand that Ohly has for dry products, and the continuous robust market growth, the decision was taken to invest in internal spray drying capacity in Hamburg.

While Ohly is operating spray dryers at its US facility in Boyceville, Wisconsin (USA), spray drying requirements for Ohly’s Hamburg produced yeast derivatives is currently carried out at trusted third-party drying partners. However, their capacities are not sufficient to support customer demand long term. This investment in spray drying capacity to support Ohly operations in Hamburg, combined with the continuing partnership with existing drying partners, will strengthen supply reliability for Ohly’s dry yeast derivative products.
